**** Modavia Productions Announces POPArt 2010 ****
December 5, 2010 – MODAVIA PRODUCTIONS, the fashion show and event management division of Modavia Fashion Marketing, today announced a new collaboration with MODERN GYPSY and MAD AGENCY. POPArt 2010 brings together leading designers and artists in an exploration and reinterpretation of the pop art movement of the late 1950′s, and early 60′s.
Characterized by themes and techniques drawn from popular mass culture such as advertising, comic books and mundane cultural objects, the pop art movement challenged tradition and in concept referred not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.
The original idea for POPArt 2010 came, appropriately enough, from Micah Kanto, designer of the ever-edgy and mold breaking MODERN GYPSY couture brand. Micah has been pushing the boundaries of SL couture for some time and is recognized as one of the key players in the vanguard of new Avant-Garde creatives.
Designers participating in POPArt 2010 include:
CheerNo, Gasqhe, Kletva, Maven Haus, Miamai, Modern Gypsy, Peqe, The Secret Store, Swansong and sYs.
Invited artists include:
Dazzlers Inc, Del May, Gracie Kendal, Natsha Lemton, Sledge Roffo and Ub Yifu.
Also no slouch in the creative department, Maddox DuPont of MAD AGENCY has got to be one of the best set designers in the business. And his build for POPArt 2010 does not disappoint. It’s sleek, retro and trendy and a great backdrop to both the fashion and artwork.
NOTE: In order to keep lag to a minimum, audience members are required to wear the outfit, custom designed by Micah Kanto, which is enclosed in the invitation prim. We also recommend that the following Windlight settings be observed to maximize enjoyment of the event:.
