"She paints her face to hide her face. Her eyes are deep water. It is not for Geisha to want. It is not for geisha to feel. Geisha is an artist of the floating world. She dances, she sings. She entertains you, whatever you want. The rest is shadows, the rest is secret."
Sayuri, From "Memoirs Of A Geisha"
Memoirs Of A Geisha is one of my favorite books. Today's outfit is a modern take on the traditional Geisha. The silk Iris dress from Paper Couture is the perfect starting point with it's destinctly Eastern design and uncomplicated lines. The colors in the traditional hair ornament and Pink Pebble Necklace compliment the Fuschia color of the dress. Lastly the color and texture of the tights and the wedged sole sandals (which look like a modern take on the tradition Geisha shoes) adds the perfect finishing touch and keeps with the theme.
